Wednesday's Worst - #19

#19

WORST DRINK

Chocolate Moo'd Power Smoothie

30 fl oz

900 calories

10 g fat

183 g carbs

(166 g sugars)

This is a smoothie???? Well, Jamba Juice thinks so. Ready for a pop quiz? Here we go. What has more sugar: One (1) Jamba Juice Chocolate Moo'd Power Smoothie or Two (2) pints of Ben and Jerry's Butter Pecan ice cream?

Ready to finish off that Michelin midsection? How about that third and fourth chin you've been dreaming about. Look no further. 75% of this chain's power smoothies are in excess of 100 grams of sugar. Their fruit smoothies are the only items with no added sugar. Do yourself another favor and order the small while you're at it.

Next week: Just how bad can bad be at your local grocer's freezer? I'll tell you!

i had the fruit juice is bad conversation with my stepdaughter. she had recently gained so much while staying at her gparents' place that she got heaps of stretch marks (4 weeks and heaps of kilos).

one of her plans was to drink fruit juice instead of soda. okay, good start, but why not water and eat the fruit? people can pile it on with fruit juice. i think smoothies are the same. they started out as a drink people made at home, so they were probably better. once it's franchised and made for the general public (and not an indiv's needs), it's shuggafied.

however, all that bitching aside, fruit juices or smoothies/frappes are great after a long run in this hot and muggy state. i run to support my eating habit.

That's the most unappealing looking smoothie I've ever seen. Might as well just stick a straw in the side of a Dixie Crystal bag of sugar and slurp on it. I think it totally qualifies as a worst drink.

It does look totally disgust-a-rino. I guess this goes without saying, but if I'm going to drink 900 calories, I'd better get a buzz to go with the cellulite.
